The Legend of the Pumpkin Killer
In the heart of the darkest forests, a chilling Halloween legend takes form. This project brings to life the “Pumpkin Man,” a terrifying figure born from folklore—a professional killer who makes the woods his own on All Hallows’ Eve.
This piece is more than just a character portrait; it is a narrative glimpse into his sinister world. It captures the silent, menacing atmosphere of the hunt, just moments before this autumn reaper claims his next victim.
My primary task on this project was to build the physical elements that tell the Pumpkin Man’s story and amplify his menacing presence. This involved three key responsibilities:
Asset Modeling: I was responsible for modeling two distinct categories of assets:
Character Assets: All the gear, weapons, and accessories used by the Pumpkin Man.
Environmental Assets: The gnarled trees, decaying ground cover, and other props that establish the dark forest setting.
Scene Layout: I designed the final composition of the shot, determining the camera angle and arrangement of all elements to create the most impactful and visually narrative frame.
Set Dressing: Finally, I handled the artistic arrangement of the scene, carefully placing each asset within the established layout to control the mood and effectively set the stage for this terrifying character.
Billy Christian (Concept Art): Established the project’s foundational vision with concept art that set the character’s terrifying mood and provided the creative blueprint for the team.
Aida Sarabadani (Character Modeling): Sculpted the Pumpkin Man himself, translating the 2D concept into a 3D model with an intimidating physical presence.
Nesa Gholipoor (Clothes Simulation): Handled the simulation for the character’s tattered clothing, ensuring it flowed realistically and added a crucial layer of believability.
Mahnaz Ghazi (Asset Simulation): Managed the dynamic simulations for various assets, adding physical realism to the scene’s elements.
Pejman Rajabi (Texturing, Lookdev & Lighting): Was in charge of the final look, creating the dark, cinematic mood through texturing, look development, and lighting.
Adel Ashuri (Compositing): Brought all elements together in the final composite, performing the adjustments that gave the artwork its polished, cinematic quality.
